EHS & DOT COMPLIANCE MANAGER

ABOUT THE ROLE

The EHS Manager leads safety and environmental programs within a precast concrete manufacturing facility, ensuring a safe work environment for employees, contractors, and visitors. This role focuses on identifying and reducing risk while maintaining compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations. The position partners with production and leadership teams to build a strong culture of safety and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Promote a strong safety culture through communication, accountability, and employee engagement.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Lead safety training programs (LOTO, PPE, fall protection, confined space, lifting techniques).
• Perform incident investigations and support corrective and preventive actions.
• Create and maintain Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for key job functions.
• Partner with contractors to ensure adherence to company safety standards.
• Conduct safety audits and track corrective actions to completion.
• Analyze safety data (TRIR, DART) and provide reports with improvement recommendations.
• Support environmental compliance efforts, including waste management and pollution prevention.
• Implement sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact.
• Monitor compliance with air, water, and waste regulations.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is a hands-on safety leader with experience in manufacturing or construction environments and a strong understanding of OSHA regulations. They are approachable and collaborative, able to influence employees at all levels while driving accountability and engagement. This individual is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuously improving safety performance and culture.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

• Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of EHS experience in construction, manufacturing, or precast environments.
• OSHA 30 (General Industry) preferred; ability to obtain OSHA 501 required.
• Strong understanding of OSHA standards and safety best practices.
• Experience with risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs.
• Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
• Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
• May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
• May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
