Primary Purpose of Department	The Office of OneIT provides highly reliable information technology infrastructure, tools and services to empower the University to achieve its academic, research, administrative, and service goals.
Primary Purpose of Position	Provide both technical and functional development across all technologies associated with the University's Salesforce platform. Engage with business stakeholders to gather/analyze requirements and map them to solutions that leverage Salesforce software functionality; and to demonstrate Salesforce development capabilities to solve business problems and produce supporting documentation.
Summary of Position Responsibilities	Design, develop, test, and deploy custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, and declarative configuration across academic, student affairs, and administrative units. Manage complex Salesforce CRM projects involving interfaces between numerous external systems, detailed security requirements, and multiple record keys. Evaluate whether given requirements are best met through configuration or code, documenting the architectural rationale. Build and maintain scalable data models, validation rules, automation, and reporting objects across multiple business units in a shared org. Work independently to develop project plans, directly manage milestones, and hold personal accountability for driving projects forward on schedule. Conduct unit testing, maintain Apex test coverage above institutional and platform minimums, and participate in peer code reviews to enforce development standards.
Minimum Education/Experience	Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of Salesforce platform experience, including at least three (3) years in a hands-on development role building on Apex (classes, triggers, asynchronous processing) and Lightning Web Components. Three (3) years designing and supporting integrations between Salesforce and enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, or middleware, including authentication patterns such as OAuth and named credentials.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience	Masters Degree and three (3) or more years supporting Salesforce in a higher education, nonprofit, or public sector environment. Experience with Education Cloud, EDA, Nonprofit Cloud, or NPSP. Working knowledge of Agentforce, Data Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Marketing Cloud. Experience integrating Salesforce with a student information system and an enterprise data warehouse. Working knowledge of FERPA and its implications for CRM data architecture, sharing design, and integration; familiarity with HIPAA or GLBA in an institutional context. Experience supporting Salesforce across multiple campus functions - admissions, advising, student success, advancement, or HR - under a shared governance model. Demonstrated experience implementing the Salesforce security model-profiles, permission sets, roles, sharing rules, and field-level security-in an environment with multiple business units sharing a single org. Three (3) years of translating business needs into functional and technical requirements in partnership with functional stakeholders.
Necessary Certifications/Licenses	Salesforce Platform Developer I certification, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
Preferred Certifications/Licenses	Platform Developer II, Application Architect, or Integration Architect certification.
