Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner - UVMMC

The University of Vermont Medical Center's Golisano Children's Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (FNP/PNP) to join our Pediatric Hematology/Oncology team in Burlington, Vermont.

This is an opportunity to care for children, adolescents, and young adults with hematologic and oncologic conditions while working alongside a collaborative multidisciplinary team within Vermont's only children's hospital.

Schedule

* 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
* 0.8 FTE (32 hours/week)
* Four- to five-day work week
* Potential future call requirement
* Some potential weekend requirements

What You'll Do

* Provide outpatient and occasional inpatient care for pediatric hematology and oncology patients in both the clinic and Infusion Center
* Manage follow-up visits, treatment monitoring, including patients enrolled in clinical trials, and symptom management
* Perform occasional procedures based on education, training, and experience
* Review and order chemotherapy protocols
* Educate patients and families throughout their care journey
* Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members
* Participate in telemedicine visits as appropriate

Experience

* Pediatric Hematology/Oncology APP experience preferred
* Pediatric and/or Oncology RN experience preferred
* New graduate Nurse Practitioners with relevant pediatric and/or oncology experience will be considered
* Strong interest in caring for pediatric patients and families
* Commitment to collaborative, patient- and family-centered care

Education & Licensure Requirements

* Completion of an accredited Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program
* Current National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP or PNP)
* Active Vermont APRN license or eligibility for Vermont licensure
* Eligibility for New York licensure
* Eligibility for prescriptive authority
* Eligibility for DEA licensure

Telemedicine

Telemedicine is a component of this role. Providers must be eligible to obtain both Vermont and New York licensure to support virtual care for patients located in New York.
