Job Summary Locations: 288 Groveland Street, Haverhill, MA and 231 Sutton Street, North Andover, MA Schedule: 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Make a Difference in Orthopedic Care Bring your clinical skills, attention to detail, and patient-first mindset to a collaborative orthopedic team at Mass General Brigham. As a Medical Assistant, you will help create a welcoming, efficient experience for patients while supporting physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and fellow Medical Assistants in delivering high-quality care. This is a hands-on patient care role for an experienced Medical Assistant who thrives in a busy clinical environment and enjoys balancing direct patient support with essential administrative responsibilities. What You'll Do Welcome patients, escort them to examination rooms, prepare equipment, and support efficient patient flow. Interview patients, collect and document medical information, and obtain vital signs, height, weight, and manual blood pressure readings. Assist providers with clinical care and reinforce instructions related to treatments, medications, diets, and follow-up care. Collect, label, log, and prepare blood, tissue, and other specimens for testing; perform phlebotomy when competency has been demonstrated. Administer immunizations when applicable and when certification or qualifying experience and provider supervision requirements are met. Maintain immunization inventory and monitor expiration dates. Support junior Medical Assistants by answering day-to-day questions and participating in onboarding and training. Complete office responsibilities such as answering phones, preparing forms, coordinating with other departments, and helping patients navigate their care. Contribute to departmental quality and safety initiatives, including patient identification and hand hygiene standards. Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with all applicable requirements. Qualifications What You'll Bring High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Medical Assisting preferred. One to two years of direct Medical Assistant experience or related medical field experience required. Prior hands-on experience with orthopedic casting is required. Basic Life Support certification preferred. National Medical Assistant certification preferred. Ability to obtain vital signs, take manual blood pressure readings, and collect blood samples and other specimens. Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and protocols. Proficiency with electronic health record systems and medical office software. Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and time-management skills. Sound judgment, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Additional Job Details (if applicable) Why Join Us?
