Electrical Control Technician II

What You'll Do

• Work safely and follow all facility safety guidelines and procedures.
• Provide daily process and technical support to Operations and High-Performance Operations Teams.
• Troubleshoot equipment, process, electrical, and control-related issues.
• Support the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Work with plant electrical distribution systems, process control systems, electrical circuits, motors, and drives.
• Diagnose equipment problems, determine causes, and implement necessary repairs, including program modifications.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC platforms from manufacturers such as Allen-Bradley, Bosch Rexroth, and Omron.
• Modify existing control logic and write programming as project requirements dictate.
• Tune, modify, and install new manufacturing equipment.
• Help procure or develop the equipment and process documentation needed to support manufacturing operations.
• Provide ongoing technical support for manufacturing projects and operational improvements.
• Maintain the schedule flexibility needed to respond to equipment downtime or provide backup shift coverage.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics Technology, completion of a two-year electronics training program, or equivalent education.
• At least three years of experience working with automation and controls equipment.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and at least one additional controls platform.
• Understanding of PLC ladder logic.
• Understanding of HMI and vision-system programming.
• Ability to troubleshoot and modify electrical and controls systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of robotic programming.
• Knowledge of 24VDC electrical systems.
• Ability to complete control-system modifications involving timers, counters, constants, and similar programming elements.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position works in an active production environment with operating machinery and material movement. The role requires frequent standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and reaching, with occasional sitting and lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Candidates must be able to work from ladders and at heights when installing or servicing equipment. The work environment may include occasional noise above 85 dB, hot and cold temperatures, and some fumes or odors. Good visual acuity, depth perception, and color vision are required.
