Job Summary
The Material Handler supports manufacturing operations by receiving, moving, organizing, and maintaining materials and inventory within a plant or worksite. This role performs material handling, inventory tracking, restocking, sampling, labeling, and cycle counting while maintaining accurate records in an ERP or similar system. The ideal candidate has prior material handling or warehouse experience, strong attention to detail, good computer skills, and reliable attendance.

Job Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move crates, boxes, raw materials, and other manufacturing materials.
• Read and follow work orders, material requests, and oral instructions.
• Transport materials using hand trucks, electric dollies, wheelbarrows, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
• Open containers using appropriate hand tools.
• Maintain accurate manufacturing inventory records and data.
• Receive, inspect, and organize incoming materials.
• Perform inventory acceptance sampling and maintain related documentation.
• Conduct cycle counts and investigate or report inventory discrepancies.
• Restock materials and ensure inventory is properly labeled and organized.
• Verify and maintain material inventory and sample request forms.
• Follow established shipping, receiving, inventory, and material handling procedures.
• Enter and update inventory information using ERP or similar systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Work effectively as part of a team while also completing assigned tasks independently.
• Maintain reliable attendance and follow established work schedules.

Job Requirements

• Previous material handling, warehouse, shipping and receiving, inventory, or manufacturing experience required.
• Experience using pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
• Experience with shipping and receiving procedures and inventory processes.
• Experience using ERP or similar inventory management systems.
• Good computer skills and ability to accurately enter and maintain inventory information.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow work orders, procedures, and oral instructions.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to learn new processes.
• Ability to perform material handling duties without heavy lifting.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required.

Work Experience

• Previous material handling, warehouse, shipping and receiving, inventory, or manufacturing experience required.
• Experience with ERP or inventory management systems preferred.
