Pay Range: $55,000 - $65,000

The pay range is based on consideration of criteria such as required qualifications, experience, education and skills. Marquette Bank reserves the right to offer the selected applicant a salary commensurate with the applicant's qualification, experience, education and skills.

Position Summary:

The Commercial Loan Associate II provides high-touch support to commercial clients by serving as the liaison and decision-maker between internal departments such as Loan Operations, Treasury Solutions, and Deposit Operations. This role delivers essential administrative support to Commercial Loan Officers and requires a comprehensive understanding of documentation and perfection requirements for Commercial Mortgages, Loans, and Equipment Finance transactions. The Associate determines necessary documentation to reflect negotiated terms and conditions, processes loan files for documentation preparation, and ensures superior customer service with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle daily customer support requests including balance inquiries, address changes, wire processing, advances, transfers, payments, and other loan inquiries.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Loan Officers by responding to calls/emails, preparing packages, entering data, tracking vendor invoices, and gathering information to resolve issues.
  • Monitor loan stages in the loan origination system, ensuring proper status and timeline adherence.
  • Initiate loan documentation by obtaining title work, flood and OFAC searches, insurance, organizational documents, real estate collateral documentation, and other due diligence items to ensure compliance with loan approvals and bank procedures.
  • Manage the loan pipeline and coordinate with internal departments, title companies, and attorneys.
  • Review Commercial Loan Files for documentation accuracy prior to requesting closing documents.
  • Oversee the loan closing process, ensuring timely receipt and review of documentation, work directly with borrowers, title companies, and attorneys.
  • Serve as Secretary for the Bank Loan Committee or provide backup support as needed.
  • Coordinate requests from Bank examiners and audit staff, ensuring credit file information is readily available.
  • Represent the department professionally in internal meetings and communicate key operational issues.
  • Actively comply with all applicable laws and regulations to include the Bank Secrecy Act, the Community Reinvestment Act, and all other deposit, lending, or non-deposit service regulations, adhering to the Bank's internal policies, procedures, and risk management responsibilities contained in the Employee Handbook, the Employee Code of Conduct, and other applicable policies.
  • Perform job-related responsibilities that support departmental and organizational goals, consistent with the scope and purpose of the position.

Knowledge/Abilities/Experience and Training Required:

  • Two-year college certificate or equivalent experience in Commercial Lending Business Products preferred, including two years with Commercial Loan systems and documentation.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret commercial loan and legal documents.
  • Skill in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Thorough understanding of HMDA, LAR reporting, and NFIP as it relates to Commercial lending.
  • Professional demeanor and communication skills to address inquiries or complaints from internal and external customers.
  • Ability to perform under high volume and deadline-driven conditions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and keyboarding.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail with multitasking ability.
  • Self-motivated team player.
  • Notary Public designation.
