Mechanical Assembler

Performs a variety of operations to assemble mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and sheet metal enclosures. Works from assembly prints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to assemble drawers, chassis, enclosures, and racks. Handles assignments that are complex in nature and requires judgment and initiative to resolve problems and make recommendations.

• Assemble mechanical components, sub-assemblies, sheet metal enclosures, drawers, chassis, and racks.
• Read and work from assembly prints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Perform hand soldering, wire harnessing, wire-wrapping, and cable harnessing.
• Determine and follow established methods and sequence of operations.
• Perform repair work as necessary.
• Perform routine go/no-go tests of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
• Set up test devices using hand tools or automatic test methods.
• Document test results accurately.
• Maintain logs and records related to malfunctions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Component polarity knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and assembly drawings.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and soft skills.
• Experience with hand tools and testing equipment.
• Experience with soldering, wire-wrapping, and cable harnessing.
• Basic mechanical assembly experience.
• Production experience with vocational training or experience in mechanical assembly.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum 6 months of assembly experience.
• Production experience with mechanical assembly preferred.

• Lifting: Up to 25 lbs.
• Pushing: Up to 25 lbs.
• Pulling: Up to 25 lbs.
• Forklift certification/experience: Not required.
