Label Room & Inventory Specialist | 1st shift

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing production labels, inventory transactions, material tracking, and inventory accuracy activities that support manufacturing operations. Operates Zebra printing systems, ERP software (SAP preferred), RF scanners, and inventory management tools to ensure accurate labeling, inventory control, packaging support, and material visibility throughout the facility. Performs inventory transactions, cycle counts, reconciliation activities, and physical inventory support while maintaining accurate records and supporting production schedules.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Print and manage production labels using Zebra printers and barcode software.
• Verify label accuracy and support packaging and production requirements.
• Process inventory transactions, production work orders, and material movements within SAP or other ERP systems.
• Operate RF scanners to track inventory and material movement.
• Monitor inventory levels, investigate shortages, and resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct cycle counts, reconcile variances, and support physical inventories and audits.
• Verify inventory accuracy for raw materials, WIP, finished goods, and packaging materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Quality, Purchasing, and Planning teams to support inventory accuracy and material availability.
• Troubleshoot basic printer, scanner, and system issues and escalate as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes, but is not limited to, the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the workstation ready for work at the start of the shift.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

Education and/or Experience:

• 
  
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two (2) or more years on inventory control, warehouse, manufacturing support, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Experience with ERP inventory transactions preferred.
  • Experience using RF scanners in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
  • Experience operating Zebra printers and barcode labeling systems preferred.
  • Experience with cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and physical inventory processes preferred.
  
  

Language Skills:

Ability to read, comprehend, and follow work instructions and procedures. Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and other departments. Ability to prepare and maintain accurate inventory documentation.

Mathematical Skills:

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Perform inventory calculations and quantity reconciliations accurately.

Reasoning Ability:

Analyze inventory discrepancies and determine root causes. Apply sound judgment when processing inventory transactions and resolving issues.

Computer Skills:

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook. Experience with SAP or other ERP systems. Ability to use RF scanners, inventory reporting systems, and label printing software. Strong data entry and recordkeeping skills.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Strong attention to detail and organization. Ability to balance system inventory with physical inventory verification. Strong problem-solving and inventory reconciliation skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Standing and walking throughout shift
• Occasional lifting (up to 25-30 lbs)
• Use of hands for handling labels, materials, and equipment
