We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Position: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides occupational therapy treatment to children in the pre-school setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited COTA program with an Associate's degree
• Requires a New York State COTA License,
• Certification from the National Board for the Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) with experience and/or training in pediatrics

Occupational Therapist Assistant Principal Responsibilities:

• Provide quality occupational therapy services to students in our school as mandated by education plans and directed by occupational therapy supervisor.
• Assist the occupational therapist in evaluating children and developing treatment plans.
• Adhere to the principles of conduct set out in the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics as well as Volunteers of America policies and procedures.
• Meets regularly with the occupational therapist for supervision.
• Maintains treatment areas, equipment, and supply inventory a required.
• Maintains records and documentation required by third party payers and Volunteers of America under the supervision of an OTR.
• Participate in professional development activities as mandated by the Volunteers of America and by the requirements for the continuation of OTA licensure.
