Research Coordinator II

The research team led by Dr. Jovan Gwon at the University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to support an NIH-funded research project focused on e-cigarette cessation among young adults in rural communities. The CRC will play a key role in recruiting, enrolling and following participants through their time in the study. The position will be responsible for daily research operations and study management in collaboration with the research team. The position will be responsible for working independently under the supervision of the project manager, adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensuring high quality data collection throughout the course of the study.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Collection, Participant Management and Coordination (80%)
* Recruit, consent and enroll participants according to the study protocol and Good Clinical Practice
* Schedule study visits with participants and maintain communication with participants throughout the study
* Collect data from participants using online assessments, interviews and other methods
* Provide study team and lead investigator with routine updates on enrollment goals, potential barriers to participation or other relevant information
* Coordinate the shipment, tracking and receipt of biological sample collection kits
* Facilitate the shipment of biological samples for laboratory analysis
* Ensure adherence to study protocols and support other research operations day-to-day
* Collaborate with the research team to successfully develop, implement and complete the study goals
* Perform other study-related administrative, logistical and operational duties as assigned

Project Development and Quality Assurance (15%)
* Assist with the development and testing of REDCap instruments prior to study launch
* Develop SOPs for study visits, data collection practices and other aspects of the study
* Write study visit checklists to ensure proper visit flow and documentation
* Conduct routine data quality reviews with the assistance of study team members to ensure high quality data collection
Academic Research and Other Support (5%)
* Assist the lead investigator with academic research for manuscript publication
* Retrieve data and develop figures and charts for annual progress reports
* Assist with the development of posters, graphics or other materials for professional conferences

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus two years of relevant experience, or a combination of related education and work experience equal to 6 years
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a research team
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple study activities and deadlines
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with study participants and research team members

Preferred
* Experience with electronic data collection systems, such as REDCap or Qualtrics
* Experience collecting, shipping and processing biological samples
* Prior history working in a clinical research setting
* Experience with recruitment, informed consent and working with participants in a research setting
* Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and the Code of Federal Regulations
* Experience working with behavioral research, intervention studies or NIH-funded research
* Experience with MSOffice, Google Workspace, Canva, Zoom, and Adobe
