Summary As the Performance Improvement & Reliability (PI&E) Intern, you will gain hands-on experience improving manufacturing performance, equipment reliability, waste, and department efficiency. You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Performance Improvement teams to analyze losses, strengthen PM and rebuild plans, deploy phased autonomous maintenance, solve chronic problems, and automate manual reporting and workflows. You will be responsible for leading a measurable improvement project and have the opportunity to polish your executive communication skills by presenting results and sustainment plans to site leadership. Responsibilities Analyze OEE, downtime, waste, PM completion, startup, quality, and labor losses; convert findings into prioritized actions. Partner cross-functionally on root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment and process losses. Support PM optimization, PM audits, equipment assessments, rebuild and asset-restoration plans, critical-spares reviews, and reliability improvements. Support phased autonomous maintenance deployment, including cleaning, inspection, lubrication, defect tagging, visual controls, standard work, and operator ownership. Lead or support projects that reduce waste and downtime, improve OEE and reliability, strengthen material flow, or improve labor productivity. Complete floor observations, time studies, data collection, equipment evaluations, troubleshooting, and implementation support. Build dashboards, automated KPI reports, workflows, and data-collection tools that reduce manual work and improve data accuracy and decision speed. Provide regular updates and a final leadership presentation covering results, financial impact, lessons learned, and sustainment. Requirements Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial), Operations, or a related technical field. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization, and communication skills. Proficiency in Excel. Power BI, Power Automate, or similar tools is preferred (but we are looking for someone eager to learn!) Comfort working on the manufacturing floor and collaborating with operators, technicians, engineers, and leaders. Hands-on, curious, results-driven approach with a strong ownership and a continuous improvement mindset. Eager to learn new platforms/software, partner with others and collaborative in nature.
