Physician Wellness Program Manager - Hybrid - 141454

The Physician Wellness Program Manager will play an integral support role towards promoting advancing an extraordinary culture of physician wellness at UCSD, within a team that helps design, implement and evaluate physician wellness initiatives. The incumbent in this position will support the Physician Wellness Office.

Technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the overall field and recognized expertise in specific areas; problem-solving frequently requires analysis of unique issues/problems without precedent and/or structure. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy.

Key Responsibilities:

Supports Physician Wellness Office through:

• Management of UCSD Physician Wellness website
• Analytic support for internal and select external Physician Wellness initiatives, with focus on measures of desired impact through process and outcome metrics
• Streamlines scheduling and communication with internal Physician Wellness groups: including but not limited to Wellness Oversight, the Department Wellness Director Committee, Wellness Alignment Committee and other liaison committees.
• Works with external wellness consultant to facilitate assessments and implement improvements
• Serves as a key ambassador for the UCSD Physician Wellness Office through:
• Active efforts to overcome institutional inertia causing slow progress toward goal
• Effective liaison activities with other organizational wellness efforts to ensure wellness efforts are aligned and complimentary
• Leadership in select cross-functional teams, as needed, to overcome inertia and/or solve complex organizational issues
• Collaborative partnerships with executive leaders, department chairs and national wellness leaders to continually identify and support wellness efforts within their departments
• Coordinates key fiscal reporting, including the Physician Wellness Office budget and Department Wellness Director resources.
• Suggest duty modifications that maximize role efficacy
• Other duties as assigned.

• Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training. Related experience: physician wellness, health and wellness, health management, health promotion or related fields; in-depth knowledge of the principles and practices of physician health and wellness administration.

• Advanced knowledge of the organizational development and effectiveness field, theories, models to assess, design and implement customized, strategic organization interventions.

• Excellent ability to communicate efficiently and effectively in both written and verbal presentations at all levels with a professional demeanor.

• Demonstrates strong analytical, problem-solving, project planning and implementation skills.

• Highly skilled in facilitation, consulting and relationship building.

• Applies strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills.

• Masters or PhD highly preferred.

• Expert skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Agentic Ai programs Lean six sigma black belt.

• Knowledge and experience surrounding change management, Lean Six Sigma and process improvement with a proven track record of addressing complex, multi-dimensional issues.

• Strong ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders of all levels, including staff, Directors, Administrators, Executives, and external partners.

• Responsive, adaptable and engaged in efforts to advance UCSD Physician Wellness initiatives.

• Experience working in an Academic Medical Center or other large multi-campus healthcare organization.

• Healthcare wellness fellowship or certificate program (e.g., the Stanford Chief Wellness Officer Course or similar executive training).

• Project management, change management or other certifications of relevance.

• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
