The Integration Engineer Lead oversees the design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise integration and interface solutions. This role serves as the technical lead for integration architecture, HL7 interoperability, data transformation, and interface engine operations. Working independently, the Lead ensures reliable communication between clinical, business, and IT systems while guiding analysts and supporting mission critical systems.
Essential Job Function:
- Lead analysis, design, and documentation of integration requirements and workflows.
- Develop, configure, and maintain interfaces using Epic Bridges and IRIS for Health.
- Create and validate data mappings, transformations, and errorhandling logic.
- Oversee unit, scenario, and integration testing; resolve complex technical issues.
- Monitor interface performance and support enhancements, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Participate in 24/7 oncall rotation and act as senior escalation resource.
- Support integration projects, system lifecycle activities, planning, and coordination.
- Maintain documentation, ensure adherence to standards, and uphold security/compliance.
- Mentor analysts and foster collaboration across technical and application teams.
- Support of IRIS for Health administration, configuration, and system management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree
Experience:
- Required: 8+ years working with HL7 and interface engine technologies.
- 8+ years building and supporting HIS/EMR interfaces (ADT, billing, lab, radiology, devices).
- 8+ years in healthcare integration environments with demonstrated leadership.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Valid Driver's License and Epic Bridges Certification.
