Pigging / Integrity Engineer

Role Summary

The Pigging / Integrity engineer provides specialist technical expertise for pipeline integrity and pigging operations for the Equinor Titan Decommissioning Project. This role supports pipeline readiness for abandonment, cleaning, flushing, where applicable, dewatering, depressurization, and isolation activities required for safe and compliant decommissioning. The SME works closely with SURF, subsea, flow assurance, construction, SSU, and regulatory teams to ensure all integrity and pigging activities align with Worley and Equinor technical requirements and U.S. offshore regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Pipeline Integrity Assessment & Engineering

• Conduct integrity assessments for pipelines and risers prior to decommissioning activities.
• Review historical inspection data, corrosion assessments, wall thickness data, and anomaly classifications.
• Develop engineering recommendations for safe depressurization, isolation, cleaning, and removal.

Pigging Program Development & Execution Support

• Develop pigging programs including cleaning, gauging, debris removal, chemical treatment, and displacement sequences.
• Define pig types, configurations, batching techniques, chemical additives, push fluids, and operational parameters.
• Support pigging execution offshore including monitoring pig tracking, differential pressures, rate control, and operational readiness.

Interface Management & MultiDiscipline Coordination

• Coordinate pigging and integrity scopes with SURF, flow assurance, regulatory, and construction teams.
• Ensure pigging and integrity activities integrate with SIMOPS, and marine operation windows.
• Respond to technical queries (TQs), RFIs, and integrityrelated clarifications.

Documentation, Reporting & Regulatory Compliance

• Prepare engineering deliverables including pigging procedures, integrity assessments, readiness reports, asfound/asleft documentation, and closeout records.
• Ensure compliance with Equinor governing documents, Worley standards, and U.S. offshore regulations (MMA, USCG).
• Support audits, lessons learned workshops, and assurance reviews related to integrity and pigging activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, petroleum, subsea, or pipeline engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in pipeline pigging, and offshore operations.
• Strong understanding of pigging technologies and pipeline decommissioning and abandonment engineering.
• Experience with offshore pipeline operations, barrier/isolation philosophy, nitrogen displacement, and cleaning programs.
• Excellent communication, analysis, documentation, and multidiscipline interface skills.
