This is an Engineering position located in Newport News, Virginia in the Engineering Liaison Office in the Mechanical Engineering group.

In this position, the candidate will be required to provide technical resolutions for a variety of complex construction issues for VIRGINIA Class Submarines at the Newport News Shipyard (NNS). The job will require shipboard investigation on submarines and modules under various stages of construction and navigating an industrial environment.

The candidate will be responsible for adjudicating construction and vendor issues for a wide variety of mechanical deviations. Most work will be centered on troubleshooting manufacturing problems during construction, correcting design deficiencies, and evaluating material discrepancies. The chosen engineer will interface with NNS Trades, Construction Foremen, Program Office, Management, and Supervisor of Shipbuilding.
