Electrical/Control Systems Engineer

JOB DUTIES:

Design and support electrical and instrumentation & control (I&C) systems for water and wastewater facilities. Perform analytical electrical design, including load calculations, voltage drops, feeder and branch circuit sizing, and equipment derating. Develop and review electrical deliverables, such as single-line diagrams, schematics/wiring diagrams, control narratives, and equipment specifications.

Coordinate design with NEC/NFPA 70 requirements for conductors, conduits, overcurrent protection, grounding, and transformers. Engineer integration of PLC-based control systems, HMI/SCADA monitoring, and communications/telemetry networks to support reliable remote monitoring and control. Design motor control solutions for constant-speed and variable speed pumping systems, including VFD integration, reduced-voltage bypass/backup control schemes, interlocks, alarms, and shutdown logic. Review submittals, assist with cost estimates, and provide construction/commissioning support as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 6 months of experience as an Electrical/Control Systems Engineer or any related occupation.
