| Position Highlights |
The Supplemental Instruction (SI) Manager leads a team of professional staff coordinators who oversee 50-75 student Supplemental Instruction Leaders who facilitate weekly structured study groups for students in a variety of courses. The SI Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all aspects of the SI program including the recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, mentoring, and supervision of SI Leaders. The SI Manager ensures the fulfillment of departmental goals and objectives including research-informed and data-driven decision making, assists with strategic planning, budget allocation and tracking, and contributes programmatic expertise to the mission of the department. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Lead and support a team of professional staff responsible for coordinating SI sessions across multiple campus locations.
- Establish goals, priorities, and procedures for SI initiatives in collaboration with the Associate Director, ensuring alignment with departmental and university-wide academic objectives, and emerging student needs.
- Provide expertise in study group and peer-to-peer pedagogy, models, and methodologies, serving as the campus resource and consultant for SI initiatives.
- Coordinate the delivery of exemplary SI services to provide equitable academic support to all students.
- Assist with determining program structure and staffing levels for SI services within budgetary parameters.
- Review program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on assessment results, feedback, and evolving SI, group study, and learning support.
- Coordinate and maintain accreditation or certification of SI training program in accordance with the International Center for Supplemental Instruction (UMKC) standards.
- Monitor and assess program performance, service quality, and student outcomes, recommending data-informed improvements.
- Partner with Think Tank program leadership to support evaluation and assessment strategies that measure learning outcomes, identify trends, and inform continuous improvement.
- Assist with the development and implementation of future assessment frameworks for university-wide peer-led and academic support initiatives.
- Collaborate with key campus to coordinate academic support.
- Provide professional development opportunities for SI staff and colleagues through workshops, seminars, and presentations.
- Prepare utilization and analytical reports on SI activity, outcomes, and expenditures, present findings and recommendations to the Associate Director, Director, and leadership.
- Assist in fiscal planning, budget development, and financial oversight for SI programs; explore and manage alternative or supplemental funding sources, including grants and proposals.
- Communicate regularly with the Associate Director about program progress, challenges, and strategic recommendations.
- Participate in research, professional organizations, and university committees to advance academic support efforts and promote professional growth.
- Contribute to departmental initiatives and collaborative projects that enhance the visibility, reach, and impact of Think Tank.

- Demonstrated excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.

- Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and high degree of openness to new approaches and new ideas.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience in education, STEM fields, or other appropriate fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Peer-led learning administration experience.
- Five years' experience working in student success programs and/or learning centers.
- Master's degree in Education or other appropriate field.
