The Department of Family & Community Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Research Scientist III to join our research team. This position supports a new NIH-funded rural primary care clinical trials network. Primary responsibilities include coordinating with the PI and other investigators to support the development and implementation of rural primary care clinical trials. They will work with a team of clinical research and regulatory coordinators to conduct community and clinical trials. The position requires organizational skills, attention to detail, and a team-focused mindset to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

- Location: TBD - This position may be based anywhere in Arizona to support rural clinical trials statewide.

| Duties & Responsibilities |
Research Development & Execution:
- Develops, plans, designs, and conducts primary care and vaccine effectiveness research. Reviews progress and evaluate results.
- Develops or collaborates in the development of new techniques, methods, and equipment.
Regulatory Compliance & Clinical Trials:
- Contributes to ensuring regulatory compliance of the research program by coordinating with granting agencies and regulators as required by research program.
- Participates in all aspects of clinical trial implementation, including conducting study visits.
Research Funding & Grant Development:
- Participates in the acquisition of research funding by initiating and writing grant proposals.
Scholarly Dissemination & Professional Presentations:
- Participates or authors articles in peer-reviewed journals, books or chapter publications.
- Participate or presents at conferences.
Driving Required:
- This position requires driving on University business. The successful candidate must have a valid U.S. driver's license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the University of Arizona Fleet Safety Policy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of diseases prevalent in primary care and primary care clinic operations
- Ability to maintain accurate research records and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
