The Senior Analyst Inflight Standards ensures integrity and compliance with all regulatory and JetBlue standards and identifies and implements changes to regulatory procedures, processes and practices to meet the needs of Inflight crewmembers. The Senior Analyst will ensure compliance with federal regulations, reviews current policies and procedures, and plans and executes internal reviews of critical operational processes, which are assessed for safety, compliance, and efficiency.
The Senior Analyst Inflight Standards has responsibility to work cross departmentally to ensure all required cabin emergency equipment is properly located during the design phases of both reconfigured and new fleet types. The Manager Inflight Standards may delegate to the Senior Analyst responsibility to liaise with all regulatory authorities, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and aircraft manufacturers and other operationally relevant external entities. The Senior Analyst works with the Manager Inflight Standards in completing all certification requirements for new or re-configured aircraft and represents Inflight Standards, as assigned, during aircraft and cabin interior development activities. Additionally, the Senior Analyst is responsible for development and execution of change management related to Inflight regulatory procedures and standards in the Flight Attendant Manual.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manages the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Flight Attendant Manual (FAM) on behalf of the Manager Inflight Standards, including content and execution of Revisions, Information Notices, Cabin Safety Bulletins and other required regulatory documentation
Researches and interprets applicable federal regulations, guidance and standards; ensures Inflight policies and procedures support regulatory compliance and appropriate IOSA standards and recommended practices (ISARPs), FAA Data Collection Tools (DCTs), and Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) requirements and references
Manages Inflight Policy Rollout and leads Change Management processes and reviews for regulatory policies, procedures and standards, including large-scale changes and changes impacting multiple departments or workgroups
Manages compliance to regulatory standards such as, but not limited to, FAA's Safety Assurance System (SAS) and IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) requirements; conducts audits, compliance reviews and analysis of implemented procedures to identify risks, required corrective actions and opportunities for improvement
Maintains a process for addressing findings resulting from Safety Management System (SMS) processes and reporting programs, cabin operation audits and regulatory oversight, including development, implementation, tracking and evaluation of corrective actions
Represents Inflight Standards, as assigned, during aircraft and cabin interior development activities, including design reviews, prototype and mock-up evaluations, aircraft visits, conformity/certification activities, and entry-into-service preparation; provides Inflight regulatory and operational expertise in coordination with internal business partners, OEMs, aircraft manufacturers and other external entities
Coordinates with JetBlue University (JBU) to provide regulatory and operational subject-matter expertise and reviews regulatory training content for alignment with Inflight policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and the Flight Attendant Manual; submits training requests as appropriate to support policy and procedural changes
Participates as an alternate or primary Company Representative on the Inflight Fatigue Event Review Committee (IFERC) and Inflight ASAP Event Review Committee (IASAP ERC), and participates on the Inflight Risk Working Group (IRWG) to review, inform and address Safety Risk Assessments (SRAs), Safety Action Reports and other safety-related matters with Inflight Safety
Responds to Inflight crewmember inquiries and resolves escalated manual content, policy, procedure, regulatory and revision issues, coordinating with the Manager Inflight Standards and appropriate business partners as needed
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Aviation Management, Aviation Science, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or in a relevant field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experience
Ability to research, interpret, and apply federal regulations, guidance, and rulemaking to operational policies and procedures
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Experience supporting aircraft, cabin interior, certification, conformity, or entry-into-service projects
