The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) manages the efficient flow of electricity on more than 11,000 circuit-miles of high-voltage transmission lines, dispatching power from hundreds of generating units across the state. The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) applies cutting-edge technology to operating a reliable electricity system, managing competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and planning for the Empire State's energy future. The NYISO's External Affairs department invites applications for a full-time Registration Coordinator. SUMMARY: The primary responsibility of the Registration Coordinator is to facilitate the registration of Market Participants into the NYISO's wholesale markets in accordance with the MST-Market Services Tariff and OATT-Open Access Transmission Tariff. This role necessitates a strong customer service focus, providing direct support to prospective and existing Market Participants registering to participate in NYISO's wholesale markets. The Registration Coordinator role aligns with the department's efforts to address technical inquiries from a diverse group of electric generators, utilities, demand response providers, traders, and consumers that seek to participate in New York's wholesale power markets. The position requires working independently and collaboratively across multiple departments within the NYISO, as well as with external entities, including prospective customers and existing Market Participants seeking to make amendments to applications, process name changes, mergers, and acquisitions. This includes consultants, attorneys and industry professionals representing clients to understand registration requirements in NY's wholesale electric markets. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical to this role, which involves extensive collaboration across the NYISO and with a diverse range of industry stakeholders. The position leads discussions with engineers, attorneys, accountants, energy consultants, and business professionals, requiring the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively. Strong attention to detail and experience reviewing contractual documentation related to ownership, credit, finance, affiliate relationships, and NYISO tariff requirements are essential. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college required (Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics or Communications). EXPERIENCE Three to five years' experience with registration applications for participation in the energy markets or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience in the energy or utility industry with strong understanding of technical products or services is desired. Salesforce experience is preferred but not required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Technical, Business Process, Salesforce or Customer Service-related certificates are a plus but not required. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
