Overview
Assists accounting management for VNS Health and its subsidiaries, as well as the grant programs in the preparation of consolidated financial reports, monthly reconciliation and balance sheets, statistical analyses and operating reports. Administers and monitors the fiscal affairs for grant funded programs to ensure alignment with established grant policies and objectives, as appropriate. Works under general direction.

What You Will Do:
- Prepares journal entries to record assets, liabilities, revenues, expenses, and statistical entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying postings, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepares and analyzes monthly financial statements using general and subsidiary ledgers.
- Performs monthly variance analyses of the balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position.
- Prepares account analyses to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, appropriate supporting documentation, and proper allocations.
- Prepares supporting documentation for internal and external audits, including MAR requirements as applicable to VNS Health Plans, and ensures compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Participates in the preparation and interpretation of financial documents and reports for senior leadership.
- Maintains statistical data within financial systems to support accurate financial reporting and allocations.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvement and recommends appropriate changes to management.
- Prepares and verifies financial information and supporting worksheets for inclusion in Board financial packages.
- Prepares tax and regulatory reports for government agencies, including coordinating Form 990 filings and Cost Reports.
- Performs account analyses and intercompany reconciliations.
- Utilizes standard VNS Health financial systems to produce balance sheets, special reports, receivables tracking, fiscal year reports, and other financial information.
- Assists with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepares statutory reporting, as applicable.
- Performs account reconciliations impacting multiple VNS Health entities, including intercompany reconciliations.
- Prepares consolidated financial statements.
- Assists with the year-end audit of consolidated financial statements.
- Prepares CHOICE standalone audited financial statements.
- Assists in developing and administering policies and procedures designed to promote effective internal controls and the appropriate use of VNS Health physical and financial resources in connection with the Community Mental Health Services Division, grant programs for Children and Family Services, AIDS, Research and Education, and newly acquired funding.
- Prepares and records restricted and temporarily restricted contributions and performs monthly reconciliations.
- Participates in financial discussions and planning with grant leadership regarding major equipment purchases, lease arrangements, and other expenditures associated with grant contracts.
- Responds to funders' requests for A-133 documentation, financial audits, and other required financial information.
- Prepares financial reports required by funding agencies. Oversees the timely completion of reports for other VNS Health grant programs, validates report accuracy, and ensures appropriate record retention.
- Assists program leadership with the preparation of applications and supporting financial documentation for government agencies and private foundations.
- Assists program leadership in developing, preparing, and modifying budgets.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required Master's Degree in Finance preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred
Work Experience:
- Minimum of three years of experience in accounting or auditing required
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite knowledge required
- Proficiency with accounting software and experience with software system implementation preferred
Pay Range
USD $85,000.00 - USD $106,300.00 /Yr.
