What to Expect
Tesla AI and robotics programs rely on compute for training and inference. To support this growing demand, the datacenter development teams have been working on custom data center rack hardware. On the compute hardware validation team, you can expect to be responsible for validating the performance, stability, and reliability of these systems from the component up to system level. You will bring multi-disciplinary insight to guide HW, SW, and FW feature development.

What You'll Do
  • Lead a team of junior engineers and technicians in solvingcomplexproblemssets anddeliver findings, next steps, escalations to Exec level visibility
  • Develop test programs to stress and measure KPIs relating to system power and performance, study stability over the lifetime ofelectronicsproducts
  • Collaborate with design engineers, reliability scientists, material scientists, quality, and service toidentifyfailure modes, generate design validation and reliability test plans toisolatethese effects
  • Perform component-level, system-level validation and reliability tests, simulating both realistic and accelerated use cases, to authenticate product viability leading into mass production
  • Identifyand execute experiments targetingnew technologiesfor critical failuresimpactingnovel use cases
  • Design tester and bring up systems including lab hardware integration, tester software, and custom circuits/PCBs

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Computer, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience with Python, C/C++, and Linux
  • 5+years' experienceworking with complex electronics systems in the consumer or computer industry in a system integration or validation capacity
  • Working knowledgein some orallthe typicalEE domains such asPCIe,communication protocols, Post Silicon, Power, thermals, HWoptimization, SIPI, etc.
  • Experience solving hardware optimization problems balancing power, thermals, perf and reliability parameters
  • Experience with hardware design tools such as Altium, Cadence, LTSpice, Catia, Solidworks
  • Excellent grasp of engineering fundamentals, and experience with standard lab equipment (power supplies, electronic loads, o-scopes,DMMsetc.)
  • Comfort with managing competing priorities, complextimelinesand resource limitations

    Expected Compensation
    $91,600 - $195,600/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
