Position Description
The Sociology and Public Health Program in the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences ( EPPS) at The University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position.
We seek an enthusiastic and dedicated educator with a master's degree in Public Health or a closely related field combined with relevant professional experience in public health, or a doctoral degree in Public Health or a closely related field. Candidates who have completed all doctoral degree requirements except the dissertation ( ABD) will also be considered. We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to curriculum development in our growing undergraduate Public Health Program and who have expertise in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health policy, or research methods. The successful candidate will contribute to our undergraduate programs by delivering high-quality instruction, engaging students through innovative and evidence-based teaching practices and supporting student learning and professional development. We will prioritize candidates who can connect classroom learning to contemporary public health challenges through applied examples, experiential learning, and opportunities for critical thinking, research, and problem-solving. Experience as a public health practitioner is valued.
The position carries a teaching load of four organized courses per semester (eight courses per academic year), with the possibility of additional summer teaching. The ideal candidate will also be prepared to participate in curriculum development, program assessment, student mentoring, and service activities appropriate to the position. This is an on-campus role with the expectation of teaching at least two in-person classes per semester.
