Equipment Maintenance Technician - CDL - Bessemer, AL

Insituform is hiring an Equipment Maintenance Technician with a valid Class A or B CDL license in Bessemer, AL! We're looking for a mechanically skilled professional to help maintain and repair our fleet of commercial trucks, trailers, and specialized equipment.

In this role, you'll perform inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, support preventive maintenance, and coordinate repairs to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

We are currently offering a limited-time sign-on bonus of $4,000 for new hires with a valid CDL license, and sign-on bonuses for new hires without a current CDL license are also available at a reduced amount. New employees who meet the criteria outlined in our sign-on bonus program will be eligible for the full payout.

What You'll Do

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on trucks, trailers, refrigerated units, and other fleet equipment.
• Assist with preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and equipment safety checks.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and coordinate repairs with outside vendors when needed.
• Track maintenance activities, repair status, costs, and equipment downtime.
• Troubleshoot GPS devices, batteries, temperature-control systems, and related equipment.
• Communicate daily equipment updates and work with Plant and Logistics teams to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate inspection, repair, and maintenance records.
• Provide occasional after-hours, weekend, or emergency support as needed.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, or diagnostics.
• Class A or B CDL license.
• Mechanical knowledge of commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, or similar equipment.
• Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform minor repairs using basic hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate equipment records.
• Ability to work independently and follow established safety procedures.
• Willingness to travel domestically approximately 10% of the time.

Preferred: Experience with commercial fleet maintenance, refrigerated equipment, DOT requirements, fleet maintenance software, or coordinating repairs with outside vendors.
