The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) Electrical Community Laboratories (ECL) maintain a range of Composite Test Facilities (CTFs) that support the qualification of Reactor Plant Instrumentation and Control (RPI&C) software and hardware. These facilities also enable rapid response to Fleet Support activities, support design project execution, and provide crew familiarization with RPI&C systems. The Knolls Shipboard Electrical Systems (SES) System Infrastructure Development (SID) team is responsible for maintaining and modernizing the existing Type II RPI&C test system infrastructure at the Knolls site. In close collaboration with counterparts at Bettis, the team is also developing, testing, qualifying, and delivering the test system infrastructure for the next-generation TII+ RPI&C platform. The SID team is seeking an experienced Facility Engineer to lead engineering efforts supporting this mission. The selected candidate will serve as the primary coordinator between KAPL crafts personnel and ECL organizations to plan and execute facility operations that support the CTFs. This role will ensure facility work scopes and schedules are effectively integrated with broader infrastructure activities required to maintain safe, reliable, and operational laboratory environments in support of project objectives. In addition, the selected candidate may support management with collateral responsibilities, including hiring activities, procurement support, and routine facility and building operations. Key Responsibilities
Leadership Expectations This is a full-time Facility Engineer position with primary responsibility for facility leadership and oversight.
