Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (HS clinical, Clinical X, In Res)

Department of Radiation Oncology

Head and Neck and Thoracic Malignancies

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking an outstanding physician trained in Radiation Oncology with expertise in head and neck, skin, and thoracic cancers to join its faculty. The ideal candidate will have an interest in developing a robust independent research program focused on translational science, clinical trials, or medical education. The candidate will attend tumor boards at the University, Veterans Administration, and county health system and will uphold values related to diversity and/or health equity. The candidate will also have an established track record in outstanding clinical care and administrative skills. The candidate will participate in clinical patient care activities and is expected to participate in clinical trials, perform active research, and publish. Candidates must be board certified in Radiation Oncology with significant experience in a variety of radiotherapy techniques, including superficial radiation, IMRT, IGRT, and SBRT techniques. Candidates must also have completion of ACGME Residency Training in Radiation Oncology and must have four years or more of clinical expertise in the aforementioned areas.

The Department of Radiation Oncology has strong clinical services across the entire spectrum of malignant neoplasms. Exceptionally strong relationships are in place with the Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Dermatology, and Thoracic Surgery departments. Opportunities for participation and/or co-management of brachytherapy, intraoperative radiation therapy, hyperthermia, and ocular proton therapy treatments are available. The candidate will be active in multidisciplinary oncology programs at the UCSF Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, and UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay. The Department also works closely with the San Francisco county health care system and the San Francisco Veterans Affairs hospital.

The candidate will be expected to teach in educational courses provided by the Department of Radiation Oncology for medical students, residents and fellows, as well as contribute to continuing medical education efforts including the departmental annual scientific conference.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $142,800-$377,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
