Position Summary

The Califano Lab in the Department of Systems Biology is looking for a part-time Research Associate to provide assistance on Systems Biology and Precision Oncology projects from the perspective of helping senior scientists analyzing complex, lab-generated or publicly available single-cell RNA-seq data to propose molecular networks as models for the quantitative analysis of cancer-related phenotypes and for the identification of small-molecule modulators of tumor vulnerabilities. The position involves single-cell RNA-sequencing data analysis using algorithms developed in the Califano laboratory. This would be an excellent position to obtain research experience. Ideal candidate performs meticulous computational work, learns quickly and is organized and reliable.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and effectively use computational tools to predict regulatory networks using scRNA-Seq data from public data bases or generated by the lab.
  • Produce high-quality, preliminary data, including figures and Power Point presentations for meetings, grants submissions and manuscripts preparations.
  • Use computational problem-solving abilities to support computational analyses in the lab, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalency certificate with some related experience, usually six months.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate performs meticulous computational work, learns quickly and is organized and reliable.
