Position Summary Dr. Chaolin Zhang's laboratory at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated Technician B to support ongoing research projects in the lab. Located in the Hammer building, the Zhang Laboratory is part of Department of Systems Biology, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics (BMB), and the Center for Motor Neuron Biology and Disease (MNC). Our efforts are primarily to understand the broad roles that co-, and post-transcriptional regulatory processes (such as alternative pre-mRNA splicing) play during neurodevelopment and in the course of incurable neurodegenerative diseases, and to exploit RNA biogenesis as novel targets for therapeutics. The lab employs stem-cell-derived neuronal cultures, brain organoids and in vivo mouse models using a combination of biochemistry, molecular biology, and high-throughput quantitative and integrative approaches.
