Job Summary:

The ECT Psychiatrist (0.4 to 0.49 FTE) will provide clinical care on the UCHealth Tower 3 Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. The attending will provide electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for treatment of refractory depression in the ECT Suite. The attending might also aid in the administration of esketamine services. The attending will oversee the evaluation, treatment, and discharge of their patients during their stay on the unit. They will address their psychiatric and medical conditions as appropriate for their stay. The attending might work with trainees and carry their own direct care patients. Please note, this is an open rank position and could be categorized as Clinical Instructor, Clinical Senior Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below. Key Responsibilities:
- Providing ECT treatment.
- Providing inpatient level of care on the psychiatric unit from admission until discharge.
- Developing an appropriate treatment plan, monitoring progress towards goals, and determining disposition upon discharge for the patients under their care.
- This position requires familiarity with the use of emergency medications, seclusion/restraint procedures, pharmacology for acute agitation, risk assessment, and treatment of substance intoxication and withdrawal.
- The inpatient psychiatrist should be comfortable managing comorbid medical conditions in collaboration with inpatient medicine/surgery attendings as appropriate.
- Building relationships with other departments and campuses
- Actively Contributes to Academic Advancement of his/her discipline.
- Keeps apprised of the latest developments in field, both academically and through applied skills

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Clinical Instructor, Clinical Senior Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
- Clinical Instructor: 1-3 years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. Minimum degree qualifications: MD, CO Physician License or Eligible for CO Physician License. Board Certified, Eligible, or Eligible by the time of hire in Psychiatry.
- Clinical Senior Instructor: 1-3 years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. Minimum degree qualifications: MD, CO Physician License or Eligible for CO Physician License. Board Certified, Eligible, or Eligible by the time of hire in Psychiatry.
- Clinical Assistant Professor: 1-3 years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. Minimum degree qualifications: MD, CO Physician License or Eligible for CO Physician License. Board Certified, Eligible, or Eligible by the time of hire in Psychiatry.
- Clinical Associate Professor: 4-7 years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. Minimum degree qualifications: MD, CO Physician License or Eligible for CO Physician License. Board Certified, Eligible, or Eligible by the time of hire in Psychiatry.
- Clinical Professor: 7+ years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. Minimum degree qualifications: MD, CO Physician License or Eligible for CO Physician License. Board Certified, Eligible, or Eligible by the time of hire in Psychiatry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
- Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
- Able to receive detailed information through oral communication, express or exchange ideas by verbal communication.
- Excellent listening and social skills
- Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds as well as various skill levels and value systems.

Anticipated Pay Range:
|
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position for 1.0 FTE has been established below. Salaries will be prorated based on hired 0.4 or 0.49 FTE: Instructor: $210,000 to $220,000. Senior Instructor: $210,000 to $220,000. Assistant Professor: $210,000 to $220,000. Associate Professor: $220,000 to $245,000. Professor: $250,000 to $300,000. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
