Position Details:

We are looking for product managers to help guide and chart a course for Grainger's enterprise systems and application development. The Senior Product Manager contributes to the product vision and to the roadmap of future products, with high degree of ownership over important features and the customer experience. You will work with engineering, design, and operations to develop aspects of a product. Work in a matrix organization and can use a variety of technologies and capabilities into products and applications that customers love.

You will be reporting to the Director, Product Management and will be based in Chicago, IL (Merchandise Mart) or remote.

You Will:

  • Establish and achieve Grainger's Inventory Management goals leveraging IoT devices.

  • Develop business plans using data to make recommendations that create advantage for Grainger.

  • Conceptualize customer & internal team member needs and build the product roadmap and requirements.

  • Lead team of engineers through structured work, provide ample business context and establish shared ownership of outcomes.

  • Lead, communicate & coordinate product launches across all partners including business, product and engineering teams with consideration of schedule, risk management, escalation of issues and balances tradeoffs.

  • Facilitate product review discussions with C-Suite executives, landing the appropriate message for the audience.

  • Partner with the analytics, UX, peer PMs and operational business leaders to deliver quality capabilities and measure the growth.

You Have:

  • Demonstrated experience designing solutions to complex problems and accomplishing results by conceptualizing, building, or substantially modifying enterprise internal tools & external website preferably geared towards a B2B customer.

  • 7+ years' experience as a product manager or related occupation. Experience must involve leading agile sprint team, working with design, analytics and business partners and include demonstration of process design skills and delivering working software.

  • Continuous improvement and progress mindset that results in the understanding of latest technologies.

  • Guide team members to accomplish outcomes.

  • Ability to function with ambiguity and within a matrix organization and on operate on a tight schedule.

  • Problem solving & planning capabilities along with creative time management skills, high degree of ownership and help influence teams to act with urgency.

  • Strong Analytical skills and ability to use hard data metrics to back up assumptions when presenting business cases to executive leadership and business partners.

  • BS/BA degree in computer science, engineering, science, math or related field. MS or MBA ideal.
