This is a full-time hourly position located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The company will not provide relocation assistance.

The Utilities Senior Area Coordinator's primary role is to ensure that all customer service standards are met through safety, professionalism, presentation, and efficiency, and that the department is appropriately prepared for the expected business volume. The Utilities Senior Area Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operation across the Utility Department. This position supports a specific area within the Utilities Department. Responsibilities include employee training, making operational decisions, and ensuring the highest level of customer service. The Utility Senior Area Coordinator will start and closedown utility operations within the building, address guest concerns, and communicate with and support the leadership staff. This position will be required to facilitate pre-shift meetings to share vital information with team members while coordinating employee breaks and overall productivity.

This position requires a focus on exceptional customer service and expects the Senior Area Coordinator to be approachable, courteous, and knowledgeable about our products, be able to clearly communicate with guests and assist them with questions, as well as provide general information to guests with a high level of professionalism.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:




  • Demonstrate Hershey behaviors through motivation, inspiration, education, and communication
  • Conduct training for employees in a specific location on proper processes and service standards
  • Coordinate ongoing training, productivity, and break schedules for respective areas
  • Make operational decisions to efficiently run a specific location
  • Assist with detailed cleaning and annual cleaning projects
  • Ensure utility employees are following Utility policies to ensure safe clean-up of bodily fluids and biohazard spills and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following hand washing procedures
  • Take department attendance at the meeting place of an evacuation situation
  • Maintain utility supplies at acceptable inventory levels in specific areas
  • Respond to first responder calls of employee medical issues and report to Health Services
  • Assist with Utility Department daily operations
  • Record attendance issues



Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:




  • Must maintain a neat appearance and meet the uniform standards
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry 25-50 pounds
  • Must be able to walk or stand for 8 hours
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and twist
  • Ability to tolerate the repetitive motion of the hands, fingers, and wrists
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and remain focused, accurate, and efficient
  • Overhead lifting may be required
  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate across the organization with other departments
  • Ability to organize and multi-task
  • Problem solving skills
  • Time management skills
  • Basic math skills to add/subtract inventory
  • Ability to perform general cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, picking up trash, and washing and sanitizing surfaces



Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:




  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred but not required
  • Experience: 6 months of custodial experience is required
