Assistant Machine Operator

Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned as needed):

  • Assists Operator with operating the production equipment. For short periods, may oversee production in Operator's absence.
  • Complete paperwork and data entry, as directed.
  • Assist Operator with product testing.
  • Product handling.
  • Perform required testing including visual inspection, for each product following established procedures.
  • Staging material.
  • Packaging of products.
  • Complete housekeeping tasks by end of shift (6S tasks).
  • Follow established quality standards and procedures.
  • Perform job tasks in a safe manner.
  • Assist Operator with other duties as directed by Operator.

Qualifications:

  • Production or machine operating experience preferred. Experience in plastics, lamination, or roll goods a plus.
  • General production labor experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Mathematic skills (add, subtract, divide, decimals, percentage's). Take accurate measurements with a rule or tape measure.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Computer familiarity.
  • Must be a team player; take initiative; follow through with tasks/projects; attention to detail; have a genuine interest in learning the processes.
  • Available to work overtime, as needed.
  • Ability to operate lift trucks; cranes; hoists; Big Joe's, etc.
  • Ability to read and follow all specifications and procedures.
  • Interpersonal skills (teamwork, motivation/commitment, flexibility, effective use of time).
