Position Summary
Sponsored Programs Administration within the central administration staff for CCRC and CMM Research Centers. The office manages a portfolio of approximately $25M extramural funding annually. Work is considered highly professional and technical, this employee will assist faculty, scientific staff, postdoctoral scholar and graduate students in preparation of research grant applications/proposals. This employee will independently develop and manage internal reporting, development of award modifications and annual project reporting requirements of sponsor.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Advanced level of knowledge of institutional policies and procedures pertaining to external funding and finance and administration.
  • Work independently in a deadline-driven environment with a mentor available for guidance as needed.
  • Strong commitment to excellent customer service and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with university faculty and staff for coordination of complex project development/management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Center Administration, PIs and other UGA personnel regarding research administration topics.

  • DLSA status or attain RTC role within 9 months with the commitment to work towards obtaining DLSA status within two years of hire.

  • Coordinate with faculty, staff and graduate students on development and preparation of items required for proposal creation and submission based on sponsor guidelines and institutional policies. Will work directly with faculty on budget development.
  • Coordinate the collection of all documentation from external collaborators and proposal subaward organizations.
