Home Buyer Education and Services Coordinator

For one year, you can get paid to build sustainable solutions in a community, gain valuable hands on experience and prepare for your future. This full-time AmeriCorps service position offers a great opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of others while building your own knowledge and skillset.

AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.

What will you do?


This member position is designed to provide additional support to the Family Services department, particularly in application intake, processing, and approval, to help the affiliate accomplish its goals in recruiting additional partner families and providing support to our existing partner families and the volunteers who work with them.

  • Conduct applicant orientations and assist individuals and families throughout process of completing the housing application.
  • Become familiar with general program requirements and applicant and partner family files to be able to answer routine questions.
  • Become familiar with and assist with the entire partner family approval process, from application intake to application processing to approval.
  • Assist applicants in completing the homebuyer program application and determining the appropriate supplemental documents to provide in relation to their situation.
  • Work in collaboration with Lending Operations and Outreach staff to serve potential current homebuyer applicants, such as conducting orientation meetings and assisting with application processing.
  • Attend Family Support Committee meetings and assist the staff liaison when needed to better serve the needs of our partner families working on program requirements and moving toward closing on their homes.
  • Assist our partner families working on program requirements and moving toward closing on their homes.
  • Attend and assist with homeowner education workshops to interact with partner families and provide feedback on possible ways to improve content or course delivery. Collaborate with and assist teachers/facilitators as needed.
  • Work with partner families to plan their home dedication as needed.
  • On occasion, build alongside homeowner families as they complete their contract requirements.

This position will focus on homeowner services, and research, monitoring, and/or evaluation aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

  • Activities and attractions: Pensacola is known for its beautiful sugar sand beaches. We have our Naval Aviation Museum, historic lighthouses and forts to visit, as well as Pensacola being the oldest and most historic settlement in America. Located close to Pensacola is Milton, FL. A great place where you can go hiking, tubing or kayaking on Blackwater River or Coldwater Creek. Come experience a wonderful landscape!
  • Unique projects: The AmeriCorps Member will be working on interactive workshops to keep the home buyer engaged into homeownership allowing them to remain engaged with Pensacola Habitat for Humanity and all that we do for the community.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
