This position can sit in Nashville, TN, Memphis, TN, or Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:
Manage and oversee on-site security operations and team. Develop and implement security procedures to keep company, executives, employees, workers, visitors, guests, and assets safe.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage regional or Business Unit (BU) MEP Estimating department, lead MEP estimating functions during preconstruction phase, and allocate appropriate resources for estimation of projects.
  • Manage reimbursement of Estimating staff and costs as related to General & Administrative (G&A) expenses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, architects, design community, and trade partners to enhance future business development opportunities.
  • Participate in hiring process, onboard and deliver timely performance feedback for direct reports, execute/contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle, utilize talent management systems, and identify appropriate training to help with development needs.
  • Oversee processes and contribute expertise to review drawings, specifications, and other construction documents; inform senior management of design-related problems, completeness of documents, and other potential risks.
  • Oversee process and manage development of lump sum bids and review for senior management approval.
  • Conduct market research information for upcoming work.
  • Review development of General Conditions/General Requirements (GC/GR) MEP estimate for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain local and national historical MEP estimating data and develop cost trends with specific attention on MEP trades and systems.
  • Oversee process of Value Engineering process during preconstruction.
  • Lead company wide or regional MEP initiatives and sales pursuits.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to prepare proposals and participate in sales and client presentations.
  • Develop in depth knowledge of products and services provided by SourceBlue. Promote opportunities for partnership with SourceBlue team.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to develop and evaluate procurement schedules and resources and analyze subcontractor proposals in relation to MEP estimates.
  • Collaborate with Operations Lead to support coordination of Launch Matrix preparation, scheduling, evaluating, executing, and managing meetings for each MEP estimating milestone.
  • Lead teams to contribute to Constructability Reviews for milestone estimates per Launch Matrix. Work with Operations Lead to ensure timely and complete Constructability Reviews and incorporate into milestone estimates, to extent required by contract.
  • Collaborate with Lean Manager to support development and execution of Pull Plans for design, estimate, and GMP schedules.
  • Attain full compehension of comparison analysis to previous MEP estimates and develop clear and concise message to explain variances for each project stakeholder.
  • Manage generation and coordination of Budget Control Reports between each milestone estimate to manage cost events and value engineering opportunities. Provide variance reports for each milestone estimate to communicate scope development.
  • Lead or support establishment of Target Value Design process as appropriate for select projects.
  • Develop understanding of quantification and cost estimating tools and software in use by local business units.
  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field, and minimum of 8 years of Building Construction experience required, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Experience with variety of building construction types desired
  • Thorough understanding of drawings and specifications, general contract and subcontract documents, materials, means and methods
  • Ability to generate accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of MEP estimating documents
  • Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing and engineering principles and techniques, and accounting principles
  • Ability to develop client relationships, identify sales opportunities and collaborate on solutions to secure work
  • Extensive knowledge of regional market, competition, and industry trends
  • Advanced project management skills, able to manage high volumes of work and ability to move projects forward in a complex environment in a timely manner
  • Management experience required with ability to coach and mentor others, and observe performance, identify areas of development, and effectively provide performance feedback
  • Negotiation skills with ability influence and engage stakeholders, and work across levels within organization
  • Executive level presentation skills, anticipate needs of audience, and tailor communications appropriately
  • Process and critical thinking skills with sound judgement decision-making
