SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Instrumentation Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the maintenance team involved in the optimization, calibration, maintenance, repair, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems and Operational Technology (OT) networks, including any related hardware for process control such as Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Data Recorders/Historians, and OT Network Switches. The Maintenance Instrumentation Supervisor will ensure that all instrumentation systems function correctly to maintain optimal production levels while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

LOCATION: Riceboro, GA

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provide training and oversight of the maintenance instrumentation technician team, including contractors, who calibrate, troubleshoot, maintain, or modify existing instrumentation and control systems.
  • Work with the Maintenance Planner or Scheduler as well as the Capital Project Scheduler to develop schedules for outages as required.
  • Develop instrument specifications and work with vendors to obtain pricing and delivery.
  • Work with Process, Project, and instrumentation Engineers to improve or modify DCS and PLC control logic for chemical processes.
  • Assist in the commissioning of new instrumentation and control system equipment.
  • Communicate with the plant operations for control system optimization and process improvement.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on existing control systems, networks, and instrumentation.
  • Maintain required documentation for instrumentation and control systems.
  • Ensure that potential safety and environmental issues related to maintenance work are considered at all stages of startup, shutdown, and continuous operations of the process equipment.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures, Calibration Procedures, and Work Instructions.
  • Performs work under minimal supervision and handles complex projects and issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred. An associate degree or technical certification with extensive experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in instrumentation maintenance within a chemical manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience with industrial controls PLCs, motor controls, control valves, and electrical distribution. Preferred: knowledge of SCADA systems, ideally Yokogawa.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project or Primavera is preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal skills and communicating complex issues to non-technical personnel.
  • Knowledgeable of precision measurement (metrology), mathematics, PLCs, pneumatics loop control systems, and electronics to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair instrumentation/controls.
  • Ability to understand chemical manufacturing equipment/processes, interpret and read blueprints, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Uses and supports the company's Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects.
