The Opportunity:

Are you looking for an opportunity to develop a data platform that will have an impact on rapid exploitation of the secrets held by a data set, and you're fascinated by the possibilities presented by IoT, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI)? In an increasingly connected world, massive amounts of structured and unstructured data open new opportunities. As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you can help turn these complex data sets into useful information to solve global challenges. Across private and public sectors from fraud detection to cancer research, to national intelligence, we need you to help find the answers in the data.You'll support the design and infrastructure development for AI research and pilot projects ranging from enterprise-scale production state-of-the-art AI solutions.

You'll work with customers and end-users to understand their mission, architecture, and security requirements. With a focus on the customer's goals, you'll build a design that will meet their evolving needs. Your technical expertise will be vital as you recommend tools and capabilities based on your research of the environment and new technology. Your design will set the standard for future development, so you'll craft an architecture that works smoothly with existing infrastructure without compromising security. As a technical leader, you'll identify new opportunities to build platform-based solutions to help your customers meet their toughest challenges. This is a chance to use your deep OS knowledge and broaden your skill set into areas like Cloud computing, large-scale data ingestion and processing, multiple data store types, including graph data, time series, spatial, and other NoSQL, high performance data streaming, data science, and supporting the integration of novel mission applications and analytics. You Have:

  • 3+ year of experience with AI, data science, ML engineering, data research, software engineering, or data analytics

  • Experience with machine learning tools

  • Experience with cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure, and cloud engineering practices and programming languages, including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java

  • Experience in working with a relational database management system (RDBMS)

  • Experience with relational or non-relational database technologies

  • Experience with data modeling techniques and creating solutions in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment

  • Experience with scripting languages, including Python and Bash or PowerShell

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with building ETL workflows for reporting and analytics, and designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining data applications

  • Experience with leading the development of solutions to complex programs

  • Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, forward-leaning technology, including cloud automation platforms, and enterprise data, open-source tech stacks, and CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and Confluence

  • Experience with Agile development techniques and ceremonies

  • Experience with natural language processing, text mining, or ML techniques

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
