Marine Solutions has an opening for a leadership position based at our headquarters just outside of Lexington, Kentucky. We are seeking a licensed engineer and professional diver to lead bridge and waterfront engineering projects throughout the Midwest and globally with the support of a talented group of staff.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

This role offers an exciting blend of project management, structural engineering, commercial diving, and leadership responsibilities. In this role you will lead and manage projects from cradle to grave, serving as the licensed engineer overseeing professional project staff. Projects will primarily include above and below water inspections and assessments of bridges, waterfront structures, and other water infrastructure. This role may also lead or support engineering analysis and design projects. This role requires certification as a commercial diver or a strong interest in obtaining commercial diving certification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.
  • Prepare and oversee project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
  • Provide licensed engineer oversight of inspections and condition assessments of bridges, piers, and other waterfront structures.
  • Oversee documentation of findings and provide actionable recommendations for maintenance or repair.
  • Develop innovative engineering solutions to meet project challenges.
  • Oversee preparation of detailed engineering reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coach and mentor professional staff.

YOU WILL NEED

  • Strong technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in area of practice.
  • Strong proficiency in computer assisted engineering and office software and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)in the English language.
  • High level ability to define problems, collect/interpret data, evaluate facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • The passion and willingness for continued learning of innovative ideas and concepts.
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in civil, structural or ocean engineering from an accredited four-year university.
  • Minimum of 4years of relevant engineering experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • ADCI Commercial Diver or desire to complete training
  • Valid US Driver's License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, WORK ENVIRONMENT & SAFETY

The duties of this position require the employee to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. This position may require the employee to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While in the field, the employee may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the required duties of this position.

This position requires maintaining current industry knowledge and expertise through active involvement in professional organizations and/or other activities that may require additional and/or flexible working hours. The ability and availability to readily work overtime and perform duties outside of normal working hours may be required to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.

COMPENSATION

The annual salary range for positions in Kentucky is $116,000 to $143,000, based on education and relevant experience.
