Plan and perform a variety of duties to repair and maintain the plant building and facilities. Assist production when required to minimize production downtime. Primarily supports one or more buildings but will support other sites as required.

Qualifications

  • * Requires a solid general knowledge of codes, rules, regulations, and procedures pertaining to the repair, maintenance, and construction of facility buildings, machines, and equipment.

    * Plumbing: Requires the ability to install and repair steel pipe, pvc, copper, sewer (abs), natural gas line (black pipe).

    * Mechanical: Requires the ability to install and repair ancillary equipment for the support of the facility. May include some fabrication with sheet metal, carpentry, ability to hang and finish drywall. Use of construction trades equipment such as powered saws, drills, sanders, pneumatic tools.

    * Electrical: Requires qualification (formal course work preferred) in the area of Industrial Electricity, including the ability to install and repair panels, bus lines, disconnects, circuit breakers, EMT and ridged conduit as well as PVC.

    * HVAC/Chillers: Must have the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.

    * Must be able to work from drawings, schematics, blueprints, sketches and specifications. Use micrometers, scales, vernier's, and gauges.

    * Must be able to travel between facilities in Northeast Ohio on a regular basis and sout of town to other company facilities including Keyser, WV on an infrequent project basis. Must be available during off hours for emergency call in.

    * Regular heavy physical effort. Climbing of ladders while carrying tools. Lifting of materials overhead for extended periods of time to facilitate installation or repair. Ability to carry tools, ladders and/or material up multiple flights of stairs or to rooftop. Ability to move furniture and equipment throughout facilities. Ability to lift a maximum of 75lbs as needed. Moderate cleaning as needed.

    * Team player, positive approach, excellent attendance and dependability.

    * Ability to work on company computer system (IFS). Microsoft Office products knowledge preferred.

Job Description

TheFacilities Maintenance Technicianwill handle building and equipment maintenance to ensure minimal production downtime.

Responsibilities include



  • Plumbing -Requires the ability to install and repair steel pipe, pvc, copper, sewer (abs), natural gas line (black pipe). Also, the ability to install and repair toilets, urinals, sinks, drains, vents, hot water heaters and condensate lines. Must be competent in specifying the correctly rated and appropriate plumbing fittings and fixtures with minimal support/supervision.
  • Electrical work -Requires qualification (formal course work preferred) in the area of Industrial Electricity, including the ability to install and repair panels, bus lines, disconnects, circuit breakers, EMT and ridged conduit as well as PVC. Must be able to correctly wire three phase motors and motor starting circuits, as well as single and three phase transformers for either power or lighting applications. Must be able to determine correct conductor size, appropriate fuse/branch circuit protection size, as well as any other requirement buy Electrical Code for installation of industrial equipment. This includes working with Phone and Data lines, 24VDC, 120VAC, 230VAC, and 460VAC 60/50HZ single phase as well as three phases. Troubleshooting abilities are crucial. Strong electrical print and schematic reading abilities must be demonstrated. Must have the proven ability to work with a Volt/Multi Meter, Amp/Clamp Meter.
  • HVAC troubleshooting -Must have the ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems. This requires a working knowledge of natural gas furnace theory of operation, AC/refrigeration theory of operation, as well as familiarity with the hookup of thermostats, coolant pumps, motors, belts and associated HVAC hardware.
  • Mechanical repairs -Basic Mechanical aptitude including troubleshooting and Preventative Maintenance of equipment, metal fab, carpentry, and drywall.
  • Lighting -Requires the installation and maintenance of interior, exterior, parking lot, emergency, exit, and pest control lighting fixtures, ballasts, and associated hardware.
  • Roofing -Investigate and address roof leaks.
  • Safety compliance- Managing EHS BBSO, and addressing opportunities expressed by manufacturing personel.



The role requires knowledge of codes, blueprints, and schematics, as well as physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and access rooftops. Flexibility for emergency calls Applicants should be team-oriented however needs to be self directed, dependable, and able to work on company systems (SAP, MS Office).
