Associate Director, Missouri Institute of Mental Health

4499 - Associate Director Research

The University of Missouri, St. Louis (UMSL) - Missouri Institute of Mental Health (MIMH) is looking for a highly energetic, organized, and motivated mental health-focused professional to serve as Associate Director. In this role, the individual will collaborate with the Director of MIMH and others from the leadership team to implement operational and administrative activities, including direct oversight of professional committees and working groups at MIMH. The individual will also lead the development and implement of internal systems to ensure continuous improvement of programs, policies, and procedures integral to the success of MIMH. The Assistant Director will also assist with the development and implementation of short- and long-term strategic plans for MIMH, development and curation of community agencies and other stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the MIMH Leadership team, providing collaboration and guidance on planning, problem-solving, and structure.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to sustain and grow the research, evaluation, professional training, and community outreach, and other initiatives of MIMH.
  • Develop and administer policies and practices that align with university policies and practices.
  • Provide administrative support for MIMH projects, including federal, state, and local grants.
  • Respond effectively to organization and operational challenges and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the MIMH finance director on development and oversight of budgets.
  • Coordinate with the Director to communicate with a variety of audiences, including academic, federal, state, public, nonprofit, and private sector stakeholders.
  • Foster an organizational culture that authentically prioritizes diversity, inclusion, transparency, and fairness.

Reports to: MIMH Director

Shift

M-F; 8am-5 pm

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business administration, management and leadership, human resource management, or another management-related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing people or teams in university settings.
  • Extraordinary problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience in program management, including management of grants and contracts.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $78,562 - $120,078 Annual
Grade: GGS-13
