West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences seek an Obstetrician/Gynecologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of OBGYN. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate(s) must have completed OBGYN residency program. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in OBGYN. All qualifications must be met by the time of the appointment.

/ Meet the Chair

Brian Casey, MD, joined the WVU Medicine team in March 2024. Dr. Casey came with an extensive background in high-quality healthcare and a commitment to improving care for women in West Virginia and beyond.

Casey joined WVU Medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he held numerous leadership roles, including the vice chair of Obstetrics, division director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, assistant program director of the MFM Fellowship, alternate principal investigator for the Eunice Kennedy- Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network, and interim director of the Obstetric Medical Complications Clinic.

Before his time in Alabama, Casey served as MFM division director, MFM fellowship director at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, principal investigator for the Dallas MFMU Network site, and chief of Obstetrics for Parkland Health and Hospital System in Texas. He also serves as an editor of Williams Obstetrics.

Casey completed his fellowship in MFM at UT Southwestern/Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas and his residency at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. He received his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine.
