Job Description

The UMKC School of Nursing and Health Studies Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program invites applicants to apply for a Clinical Adjunct Faculty position. The clinical adjunct faculty is a valued member of our Nursing program team. They are responsible for facilitating student learning in a variety of clinical care areas, collaborating with department faculty, and working with nursing units staff and patients to assure the safety and quality of our program clinical course work.

Available clinical positions:

  • Fundamentals of Nursing Lab and Clinical
  • Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2 Lab
  • Adult Health I & 2 Clinical
  • Pediatrics Clinical
  • OB Clinical
  • Mental Health Clinical
  • Critical Care Clinical

*Please Note: Clinical rotations and days vary depending on course assignment and clinical placement availability with our clinical partners.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) OR Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) with 5 years of clinical experience. Those with a BSN will be required to attend the Clinical Faculty Academy at no cost.
  • Unencumbered RN License in Missouri or a multistate license
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification for the Health Care Provider
  • Experience in the clinical area of interest is required

The UMKC School of Nursing and Health Studies is located in the heart of Kansas City on the Health Science District campus, along with the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, and Pharmacy. With over 1,400 students, the School of Nursing and Health Studies offers a variety of programs, including pre-licensure BSN, RN to BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD. The school has full accreditation from CCNE and UMKC has NCA accreditation. We are a team with a passion for nursing and a mission to improve health outcomes for everyone. UMKC's undergraduate nursing program has been rated number 86 of 650 nursing programs by U.S. News and World Report in 2023.
