OverviewThe Gaming Devices Engineering team is a team of diverse and creative professionals who design, test and manufacture some of the best-loved gaming devices in the world. Our teams ship tens of millions of hardware products every year including the Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, a full accessories lineup, and more. Come be part of what's next for the future of gaming! Our Electrical Engineering and Firmware is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the power and performance management of existing and future products. The candidate will possess the ability to collaborate closely with our mechanical and thermal development team, electrical engineering team, and software/firmware team to ensure system level power budget and thermal specifications are met while delivering world-class acoustic performance in consumer electronic products. The candidate will be experienced in electrical engineering, but also have the breadth to understand thermo-mechanical aspects of the active cooling technologies utilized in desktop/laptop computers and consumer electronic devices. Additionally, they should have an understanding of power states and power management features in Windows and/or other operating systems, control system theory, PID fan control, and thermal/acoustic tradeoffs as it applies to consumer electronics devices. Responsibilities shall also include the design of test vehicles and prototype systems to validate concepts and methodologies. The candidate should have a good understanding of System-on-Chip (SoC) power/performance trade-offs between frequency, voltage, and power, and voltage and performance binning techniques for SoCs. Close collaboration with the silicon development team, the electrical design team, and the manufacturing and test team will be essential. The candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of core engineering principles, analytical process, disciplined methodology, superior problem-solving skills, and a passion for developing technologies and products with a broad scope of impact. Experience will include significant contribution to the development of world-class consumer electronic products such as video game consoles, set-top boxes, desktop PCs, and laptop/tablet PCs. good technical leadership, communication skills, having a bias for action, and a willingness to tackle big challenges. This candidate will own all aspects of the power/thermal subsystem design and characterization on existing Xbox console variants as well as future designs and shall ensure a good customer experience from product inception through end-of-life.
