Research Compliance

Job Description

The Export Controls Analyst will support Research Security and Compliance at the University of Missouri by working with the Export Control Officer in the day-to-day management of the export control and sanctions compliance program through onboarding and managing compliance reviews, coordinating communication, and assisting in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures.

This position reviews and provides guidance related to various contracts and research activities, including identifying compliance risks, information security requirements, and the need for Technology Control Plans. The Analyst will assist in monitoring and initiating audits of Technology Control Plans, review international travel authorizations, international shipping requests, and visa applications as needed as well as engage in restricted party screening using Visual Compliance.

The Analyst will develop and deliver educational programs, maintain the export controls and sanctions website, and assist in developing articles or newsletter content.

This position requires maintaining expertise in the ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations, NSDD-189, and CUI policies and participation in professional development opportunities.

Due to the nature of this position, candidates must be able to access export controlled information.

While in-person work is preferred, remote work will be considered for the appropriate candidate.

Shift

8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, or equivalent

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in export controls, legal services, research compliance, research administration, and/or higher education.

This candidate must be able to access export controlled information.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $51,875.20 - $73,000 per year

Grade: GGS-010
