Requisition ID req29827 Working Title Research Coordinator Position Grade 10 Position Summary Notice: Funding will be renewed on a year-to-year basis for a 5-year grant. Continuance beyond the 5 years will be subject to the Department's operational needs as outlined in UBPPM #3200, Employee Classifications, http://policy.unm.edu/university-policies/3000/3200.html. The Division of Endocrinology, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a Research Coordinator to assist with multiple NIH-funded diabetes research studies. This position requires clinic experience, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and strong organizational skills. In addition, this employee will be responsible for working closely with clinical and administrative staff in a research setting, conducting clinic visit assessments, performing phlebotomy, sample processing and shipping, administering questionnaires, and tracking patients between study visits. The Research Coordinator will work with confidential data, sensitive health information, and directly with patients, their primary care physician, clinic staff, and members of the offsite research team. The employee will be required to be punctual and dependable in order to meet the needs of our study participants, have excellent clinic skills, experience with documentation, and the ability to work well with others.
The Department of Internal Medicine is a large, progressive department with a diverse staff working in dedicated teams to provide quality work in an organized, effective and efficient manner through innovation, training, and education. Through our collaborative work effort, we support the faculty and enhance the missions of the department, school, Health Sciences Center and University. Coordinates and administers a funded research study/activity or group of associated activities. Assists in project planning, and ensures that pre-established work scope, study protocol, and regulatory requirements are followed. Establishes and maintains budgets and fiscal controls for the project, and assists in the development of grant proposals. Recruits and coordinates research subjects, as appropriate, and serves as principle administrative liaison for the project. Oversees and coordinates the provision of administrative and staff services to investigators; develops and maintains recordkeeping systems and procedures.See the Position Description for additional information. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications * Experience working in a clinic setting with patients/participants and performing clinic assessments * Experience administering neurocognitive questionnaires * Experience with data entry * Experience performing phlebotomy, sample collection, processing and shipping Additional Requirements Experience with miscellaneous office duties. Candidate must have shipping certification or obtain within one month of hire date. Some out of state travel may be required.
