Position Summary

Under limited supervision, provides
specialized, professional-level support in areas of advanced complexity such as
system analysis and design techniques to produce innovative solutions addressing
complex business objectives. Gathers information, defines work requirements,
and plans and implements projects. Writes, tests, and troubleshoots code of
advanced complexity. Serves as the primary technical resource for implementing
and maintaining applications. Provides technical leadership on implementation
and operational support activities. May supervise or provide functional
direction to assigned staff and/or student employees.

As a Programmer Analyst 2, you will: Apply
content expertise and intermediate system analysis and design techniques to
produce innovative solutions addressing complex business objectives. Write,
test, and troubleshoot intermediate code for review by senior level technical
staff. Develop proposals that consist of objectives, scope, and user
expectations. Prepare specifications for the development of applications upon
approval of the project synopsis. Develop, implement, and maintain applications or systems of moderate complexity.

As a Programmer Analyst 3, you will: Apply content expertise and advanced system analysis and design techniques to
produce innovative solutions addressing complex business objectives. Write,
test, and troubleshoot advance code and review code written by lower level
staff. Review and refine specifications, and develop, review, and approve
project plans for application development. Serve as expert and/or lead in the
development, implementation and maintenance of complex applications or systems.

The expected salary
range for Programmer Analyst 2 is Monthly: $4,073.33 - $5,721.73 (depending on experience).
The expected salary
range for Programmer Analyst 3 is Monthly: $4,688.67 - $6,709.73 (depending on experience).

Minimum Qualifications

For Programmer Analyst 2:

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.

For Programmer Analyst 3:

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of progressively responsible experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year-for-year basis.


Preferred Qualifications

The successful candidate should have
demonstrated experience and a proven track record in the following:

  • Providing
    exceptional customer service, including building and implementing
    technical and operational solutions to increase the effectiveness and
    efficiency of business processes for end users
  • Demonstrated
    experience providing application support, including troubleshooting of
    end-user issues and developing solutions to recurring problems
  • Interpreting
    regulatory and compliance requirements and implementing relevant technical
    solutions
  • Ability
    to communicate effectively with other technical staff and functional end
    users
  • Technical
    expertise in Banner or other similar ERP systems in a higher education or
    other large institutional environment
  • Proficiency
    in Oracle and PL/SQL for programming, development, and reporting
  • Developing
    applications or reports using Oracle Application Express (APEX)
  • Experience
    with ETL processes and the use of an Operational Data Store (ODS)
