Project Engineer III

RK&K is seeking a highly motivated Senior Traffic Project Engineer with 7+ years of experience to join our successful team in Austin, TX. This office is seeing significant growth and performing work on many complex and interesting projects throughout the region. As a Traffic Engineer for RK&K you will work alongside side and collaborate with a talented and professional team while demonstrating and expanding your hands-on traffic engineering experience.

Essential Function

• Perform a variety of traffic engineering tasks, including traffic engineering design plans, safety studies, and traffic analyses
• Support projects for all modes of travel including highway, bus, rail, bicycle and pedestrian in urban, suburban and rural environments
• Complete studies and develop high quality traffic reports with limited direction and be able to clearly, professionally present that information to our clients on site and virtually
• Prepare documentation and design plans for traffic control devices, including traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, temporary traffic control, illumination, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS)
• Prepare technical reports and presentations
• Understands traffic engineering and operations
• Possess excellent technical writing skills

Required Skills and Experience

• Seven (7)+ years of traffic engineering experience
• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Related Studies
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in TX or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
• Experience with or a willingness to learn VISSIM, HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, AGI32, and SignCAD.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)
