College Intern - Construction

RK&K is hiring a Construction Management/Engineering Intern to join our CM. As an intern in our Construction Department at RK&K, you will receive on-the-job training working alongside and collaborating closely with one of the industry's largest, most talented groups of inspectors, engineers, and construction management professionals in the Mid-Atlantic.

Essential Functions:

• Assist inspectors, project engineers and managers with a variety of tasks, including preparation of contract plans, specifications and construction cost estimates on construction projects
• Assist with construction projects with office engineering services (submittal review, contract document interpretation, requests for information, correspondence, change requests, and change orders)
• Communicate effectively and collaboratively coordinate with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, and project teams, including other disciplines, such as cost estimators, designers, and other engineers
• Quality control review and claims analyses of contract documents

Required Experience:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biological Systems Engineering, or similar
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Valid driver's license

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Exposure to Project/Program Management Software
• Understanding of construction drawings and specifications
• Proficient in Bluebeam or other PDF annotation software
