Overview

We're seeking an Imaging Specialist to join our team! The Imaging Specialist position is a tertiary tier level role, with responsibilities at the, I, II, or III level for advanced diagnostic imaging, cardiology and radiation oncology medical device service and maintenance performance. The Imaging Specialist position has direct reporting responsibilities to the assigned affiliate Unity Point Clinical Engineer Site Manager or designated Supervisor.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordination and performance of medical equipment project management assignments, planning and review/recommendations associated with either system replacements, relocations or new facility additions/renovations.
  • Provides mentoring and leadership in the development of Imaging Specialist's I and II's.
  • Performs electrical safety testing, scheduled maintenance and quality assurance inspections for all diagnostic imaging, cardiology and radiation oncology medical devices.
  • Must be able to understand and demonstrate required troubleshooting skills, decipher electronic schematics and use of service manual documentation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of medical physics, radiation emitting, ultrasonic and magnetic imaging generating device principles.
  • Must have advanced knowledge and understanding of PC's and required computer/network operating systems.
  • Coordinates and performs both scheduled and emergency equipment repairs of diagnostic imaging, cardiology and radiation oncology medical devices as assigned seeing them through to completion and return back to the clinical environment.
  • Responsible for recording in the Clinical Engineering CMMS software database any assigned medical device service or maintenance event performed. All recordings are to be accurate and timely in manner to assure integrity of all CMMS archived medical device and staff work performance history.
  • Adheres to assigned on-call rotations at assigned affiliate site and follows required availability and reporting to site as identified in the Clinical Engineering On-Call policy.
  • Communicates and updates all clinical customers as to medical equipment service and maintenance events and device status to assure best delivery of care for all UPH affiliate patients.
  • Provides education to clinical customers as to proper use and operation of medical imaging related equipment.

Qualifications

Education:

Preferred:

  • Associates degree from an accredited biomedical, electronics technology program, military biomedical certification or equivalent.

Experience:

Required:

  • Level III: Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated diagnostic imaging servicing experience in addition to education typically acquired through an accredited biomedical, electronics technology program or military biomedical certification.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Requires knowledge of federal healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Excellent academic credentials with a track record of professional accomplishments, which demonstrate superior performance, leadership and vision.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to work as a team member, creating and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.
